About Us

Lennox Industries, based in Dallas, Texas, has been built on a legacy of innovative firsts, from the introduction of the riveted-steel furnace in 1895 to some of the most efficient air conditioners available today. Over the years, Lennox has set the standard for home comfort, continually pushing the standard with a lineup of 60+ leading-edge products and more than 6,000 full-service dealers nationwide.

In 2010, Lennox’s Milwaukee (Wis.) district began a new initiative to better work with its dealers. It created a Dealer Advisory Council (DAC), consisting of 12 dealers of varying size located across the state of Wisconsin. The DAC represents a unified voice for Wisconsin dealers. They meet regularly with various Wisconsin Lennox managers in a two-fold effort to improve communication between the manufacturer and its dealers, and to help the dealers work together toward the common goal of helping grow the HVAC industry.

The Impact Committee, part of the DAC, created the idea for Heat U.P. Wisconsin. Fully supported by Lennox, the Heat U.P. Wisconsin program kicked off in 2010 with 82 dealers participating in the program, installing 85 furnaces across Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

After the first year, several companies were so moved by the program and its selfless purpose that they joined on as a sponsor. For example:

  • Honeywell began providing free thermostats to include with each furnace installation.
  • Strategic America, a media company, created free print and radio advertisements.
  • LaMar Advertising provided free billboard space for advertising Heat U.P. Wisconsin.

In addition, the Impact Committee wanted to build on the success of the program's first year, so in 2011, they created a marketing toolbox to provide to participating dealers. The toolbox contained press releases, logos, promotional items, and much more to help better promote the Heat U.P. Wisconsin program and solicit more nominations. Now the program began gaining some momentum!

Excited by the success of the Heat U.P. Wisconsin program, in 2012 Lennox dealers in the state of Minnesota kicked off their version of the program, called Heat Up Minnesota. Since then, Illinois, North and South Dakota, Missouri, Colorado, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and other areas have also joined Heat UP, and several others are in the process of setting up this fantastic program. It just keeps growing!

To date, the Heat U.P. Wisconsin program has installed over 500 furnaces and provided more than $2.2 million in support to families!
